Children's Education

Children’s Tithing Project

Every week, students are encouraged to bring a small offering to support their annual tithing project: goats. The gift of a goat starts a cycle of hope in a community in need.

Kindergarten & Grade 1

The children will take a walk through the Bible using stories from both the old and the new testament, using songs, stories and crafts to “Imagine” how the people in the Bible learned to trust, work and see God’s power and creation.
Teacher: Heidi Zinkand

Grades 2 & 3

The 2nd and 3rd grade will “wonder at God’s plan” using stories from the old testament. In each class session the students will be using old testament stories, music and crafts to learn about how God worked through creation and his people.
Teacher: Nancy Johnson

Grades 4 & 5

The 4th and 5th grades will study the Old Testament this year, beginning with the story of David and Goliath and continuing through the return from exile in Babylon. Each lesson will enable us to see God's faithfulness to his people and consider the importance of Old Testament history for our lives today.
Teacher: Jim Leunk

Grades 6, 7 & 8

The Junior High will study worship, our liturgy and sacraments, and what it means to be a covenant child of God. We will then look at creation from a reformed perspective and what God expects from us concerning his creation and his kingdom. Finally, we will examine the gifts God has given us, how we can use them and end with a short look at end times.
Teacher: Mary Steensma
